Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner: Akuma Zensho Overview
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner: Akuma Zensho (真・女神転生デビルサマナー ～悪魔全書～) is a fan disc that contains information and media about the monsters that appeared in the Devil Summoner Sega Saturn game.
You can search the demons by name, level, race and whether or not they are a boss. The artwork for each demon is shown and you can pull up information such as their location, weaknesses, and statistics. Of course, if you can’t read Japanese, it will be hard to get much out of the information beyond the target’s location and weakness, as mostly everything else is in Japanese.
There is an “Auto-mode” that begins a slow slideshow.
You can change the BGM music by clicking on the sound icon.
The main intention seems to be enjoying Kazuma Kaneko (金子 一馬) and Soejima Naruki’s (副島 成記) artwork. The output resolution of the Devil Summoner game was 320 × 224, while Akuma Zensho features artwork in 640 × 448.
One nice feature with this release is that it fully supports the Saturn mouse accessory. I’d imagine navigating the menus with it is much nicer than the control pad.
This release is probably not worth purchasing except for the most hardcore of Devil Summoner fans.
