Mario & Sonic continues solid sales and Shin Megami Tensei IV FINAL prepares to leave the Japanese sales charts for the week ending February 28th, 2016.
The Nintendo-published Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games for the 3DS continued solid sales for the week with 22,032 units sold and a new lifetime total of 63,768. This had the title sliding slightly from the 5th spot down to 6th on Media Create’s Top 20 charts for the week.
Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei IV FINAL, also for the Nintendo 3DS, continued to slow down in sales. The game saw 6,559 units sold and a lifetime total of 117,316 units through February 28th. Sitting at the 19th slot, it fell drastically from the 9th spot last week. Chances are that the recently announced DLC for the game still won’t bring in enough sales to keep the game in the top 20 next week, but we shall see!
It’s probably safe to say that the sequel will not see the same amount of sales as Shin Megami Tensei IV across it’s lifetime, which debuted to 188,562 copies selling in it’s first week. The last numbers we were able to find for the game came from July 2015, where it had passed 600,000 copies sold worldwide.
Various versions of the latest Kamen Raider game, Kamen Rider: Battride War Genesis #, from Bandai Namco top multiple top spots that week, with the 3DS version of Capcom’s cash grab Mega Man Legacy Collection being the only other game in the top 4 places.
