SMT IV Final dropped from the top spot for the week ending February 21st, 2016; but a new Sonic game ranked high.
A number of new releases this week booted the 3DS game from the top down to number 9 on Media Create’s charts. The game moved 14,408 copies, bring it’s total so far to 110,757 from February to February 21st. Everything that sold better than IV FINAL is a brand new release.
One of those new releases is Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (マリオ&ソニック AT リオオリンピック) from Nintendo. The newest entry for the 3DS managed to place fifth with 41,736 copies sold. Not a terrible debut for a handheld game.
Valkyria Chronicles Remaster (戦場のヴァルキュリア リマスター , Senjou no Valkyria Remaster) and Yakuza Kiwami (龍が如く：極 , Ryu Ga Gotoku: Kiwami) found themselves booted out of the top 20 completely thanks to a number of new releases.
Famitsu’s top 30 chart reports that Valkyria Chronicles Remaster sold 5,195 copies for the week, with a lifetime total of 27,456 units so far. To not be able to place in Famitsu’s 30 chart, Yakuza Kiwami would have to of sold less than 2,389 copies for the week on any of it’s platforms.
