Kidou Senshi Gundam: Giren no Yabou‘s title translates to Mobile Suit Gundam: Gihren’s Ambition and is a play on the title for Koei’s Nobunaga’s Ambition series.

A limited edition (Shokai Genteiban) was released with the red text and image instead of purple, but they are otherwise identical.

Giren no Yabou is a strategy game where you play as either the Federation of Principality of Zeon during the One Year War. You have 150 turns to defeat your opponent.

Future sequels to the game would arrive on the Dreamcast, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable.
