Review & Article

“Donpachi review coming soon ;)”

I was sort of right. Anyway, here it is.

Benstylus recently wrote up a convenient NiGHTS Into Dreams… timeline for us as well.

Retrocore

I’ve finally gotten around to hosting Yakumo’s wonderful Dreamcast Shooting Special video. If you haven’t seen it already I highly recommend doing so. I’m still figuring out the best way to compress the larger Sega Saturn Shooting Special to a size more suitable for FilePlanet ;)

H4x0r3d!

SegaFans has been experiencing some problems lately thanks to some arab hacker who fancies himself a revolutionary. Last time I checked this site wasn’t called ZionFans douchebag, it’s only a video game site.

Anyway, I’m also trying to get our host to restore a backup of the forums, after I somehow managed to screw it up again by using IPB’s Easy Logo Changer (!!!) Hopefully this issue can be resolved without having to start from scratch.

Donpachi review coming soon ;)

Videos, Articles

I’m currently in the process of redoing the videos section, so videos from prior updates may be down at the moment. I apologise for the inconvenience, but I can promise it’s going to be worth it.

Also, I’ve updated the ancient Articles section with a few Dreamcast game previews from the May 2000 issue of EGM.

New Look

I decided to give SegaFans a new design. Due to the vast nature of the site it’ll take a while to reformat all of the old pages, so please be patient while I try and make this work.

Also, I’ve added videos for Fighting Force, Fighting Vipers, Gungriffon, and Puyo Puyo Sun.

Welcome to the new SegaFans!

The hosting issues have been resolved. Ben and I decided switching services was too much hassle for the time being.

In site news, I added my review of Scud: The Disposable Assassin for the Saturn. It’s probably the first decent review I’ve written. I’m currently working on review of Clockwork Knight and I’m happy with what I have so far and hopefully you’ll enjoy it.

Also, be sure to check out the forums and the new Game of the Week section.

Weekly News Roundup

The big news this week is that Phantasy Star Universe has been officially announced for the Xbox 360! Good news for gamers who want to play their console games on a console.  Judging from Sega’s history with Phantasy Star Online, chances are this 360 version will not tax the system particularly, and will likely be almost a straight port of the PS2 and PC game.  Just cost $10 more or something :P

Sega’s holding a Puyo Puyo Fever 2 (Windows PC version) Online event from April 20 through April 26!  It’s a celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Puyo Puyo series!

Other than that, not much news – Sega Japan’s done updates to some of their game sites such as Sonic Riders and Shining Wind, but thanks to the impending E3, I expect the Sega news world to be pretty quiet.
