revjuggleAnd now… time for the much requested 411 on the entity known as ‘RevQuixo.’
Is Rev really as mufti-talented as he says? Sure ’nuff. He can dance, juggle, model, make love to a 3D pad, and even beat yo arse in some video pinball. Well, most of the time anyway.
Where does El Quixo mon live? He moved to the ghettos of Pennsylvania not too long ago, where he uh… found cheap enough lodging for his game collection.
Where was RQ last night? My sources say this sensitive guy’s guy was at the Ani Difranco concert. What a dork. :P
what was Rev doing last weekend in a hotel room with two other guys? SAMBA DE AMIGO!!!
revsamba
According to one eye witness: “We were both there watching him! He just grabbed hold and shook hard and randomly in all directions! How could he do that? It’s not at all proper. If I were to do it, I’d at least do it privately. He has no shame.”

Damn life. Once it gets busy, it really fuckin’ gets busy. Big changes are ahead for ole Chakan, and that means I need to do lots of things to be prepared. Don’t worry kids, I’ll always Be Back. It’s just a question of when. :D

Yesterday, Sega let loose the fact that they’re going to charge $10/mo. for SegaNet online play. That means $10/mo. if you want to play Q3A on official servers, or if you even want to think about playing Bomberman Online… well, Online. I can completely understand this, but all I want to know is what I’m going to get for my $10 if the SegaNet service isn’t improved? Do I get a fancy members only section of Sega.com? Or hell, just send me a free copy of an old Sega Visions. Anything!!!

In good and bad news, the mailbag for October 19th is finally up… and it’s the last one for right now. It will be back, with some new kickass topics. I promise that…

That’s it for right now. I hope to get more time to do some new content soon. Ciao.

This weekend was pretty busy for me. I spent one day considering a new career path, another moving a community to a different server, and another fixing the corrupted data that said community’s old host messed up, and each night promising RevQuixo I’d get his Death Crimson write-up up… arrgh! Anyway, something new’s up.

Expect more tomorrow.

Yo, yo, yo, yo! This here be Chakan in da hizzzouse! Uh, yeah. I’m here. We’re going nowhere. Don’t worry. I haven’t considered jumping off any cliffs… lately, at least. Just busy. Rev’s computer was fux0red, and Knuckles was a day behind due to being.. er.. drunk? [It’ll be up tomorrow, along with other stuff.]

Someone told me a few days ago that they wouldn’t blame me for just dumping SegaFans because of the Shenmue 2 announcement. I turned to them, slapped them on the back of the head, and then began to rant and rave. I reminded him that this site wasn’t started to hype up upcoming games – it was to gather and spread the Sega lovin’ that we’ve received from days of yore, and even from the freshest releases. We love Sega not because of the number of games, but because of the classics that we’ve been given. Games that are shining examples of their genres (Space Harrier, the Shinobi’s, the Sonic series, the Shining series, the Phantasy Star series, the Streets of Rage’s, Dragon Force, and even those Shenmue’s come to mind instantly). They were the first, and will forever have a spot in our hearts. Just remember why you came here, kids, and you won’t be so damn angry. :)

Well, it’s been a full 24 hours since I found out that Shenmue 2 won’t be released for the Dreamcast in US. It’s rather evident that I was angry at the announcement, but I’ve had some time to calm down now… But don’t you think for one minute I’m not bitter.

This week’s Mailbag is up! People wrote in with some words on Crazy Taxi and commercial licenses popping up in video games. Pretty interesting. I’ll decide on next week’s topic tomorrow.

Today marks the addition of one Mr. RevQuixo to the SegaFans team. His first task? The much-loathed Final Fight Revenge. You hate it, I hate it, GameSpot hated it… but be Honest. Did any of us play it? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Read what the Quixo man has to say.

If you’ve been visiting for a while, you might recall seeing Rev on the site before… making sweet, sweet lovin’ to his Saturn 3D pad. Ohhh yeaaah… Sega Porn Pt. 2, indeed.

Been a couple days already… I hate it when I wait this long. I feel the need to apologize, when I really shouldn’t have to. Heh. Oh well, here’s an empty promise to make you feel better: I’ll never wait this long again!

With that out of the way, I’d like to introduce you to the re-vamped Dracula X page. It’s prettier, features a better write-up, and has new media content. Ding, ding, ding!

I’m not very happy to be making this next announcement. Long-time readers will know I’m against… the corner image thing… just read…

I spent the majority of last night working around in video editing software. I was on a mission to find a single format for ALL of the videos on SegaFans, and I’ve found it: DivX. Yep, that means all of the videos will be re-done in glorious DivX format. They’ll also have a new addition that was brought on by the recent… shameless acts of content thieves like SegaWeb: a SegaFans watermark. It’s visible, but very much transparent.

And speaking of videos, there’s two new Saturn videos now online: the introductions of Radiant Silvergun (a small cap is shown above, at 50% size) and Saturn Bomberman! If you only download one, I’d check out the shorter and more entertaining SB intro… it’s just more worthwhile.

Not much else to say today. I’ll try to get up some re-done videos and new content up over the next 24 hours. Don’t forget that tomorrow brings this week’s Mailbag, so be sure to get typing if you haven’t submitted one yet. So far, it’s a pretty decent turnout, but I want more!

Wow, watch the next SegaFans Mailbag fill up oh-so-gradually. This one’s going to be a better size than last time. Keep them coming!

This week’s Sega Emulation Weekly is on time! Could you ask for anything more? Well, this one’s packed with some Sonic – er… Knuckles-related homebrew action!

The action’s a little slim today because I spent the night over at a friend’s. Was planning on rockin’ his big beautiful 56″ television with some Capcom Vs. SNK 2 action, but I made a terrible, terrible mistake: I forgot my Dreamcast power cord… So we drank some beer and shot pool. I played my best game of pool ever (which I don’t play that much at all).

This week’s mailbag topic:

It’s pretty evident that most people either enjoy or completely loathe Crazy Taxi. It’s kind of funny when you realize that the majority of the people who HATE it (in general) are avid gamers, and people who usually adore Sega titles. And the people who really love CT happen to be (again, I’m generalizing here) more casual gamers.

So here’s the interesting question to answer when you write in with your feelings on Crazy Taxi (mine will appear in a review someday soon): was Taxi Sega’s most commercial game ever? Consider this, it featured numerous fast food and retail chains, as well as a soundtrack provided by two well established artists.

Loved to hear your guys’ thoughts…

Hey, it looks like one regular feature is on time this week! The new Mailbag is up, and it’s a biiiiig one. Thanks to all of the people who wrote in!

Today I opened up the Sega CD section, which contains a hell of a nice collection of Lunar: The Silver Star items, if I do say so myself. A big thanks to Eidolon for those secksi Japanese scans.

I think the ST: TNG marathon ends tonight… what a bummer. But, hey, it means I can resume playing video games as much as I normally do and get some full updates going here. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.

I figured it’s about time that I put up the new stuff for October. Hey, it’s like a SegaFans calendar. Swanky.

Wow, it’s Friday mornings already. I’ve received absolutely 0 letters for the SegaFans Mailbag. And now you know why I didn’t bother with having one for oh-so-long… Unless I get a flood of letters over the next week (or even tonight), the Mailbag might be dropped.

I can almost guarantee some new content later today.
